2. Information We Collect

To provide the best learning experience, we collect the following data:

• Authentication: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. This data is managed by Firebase Auth (Google LLC).
• Learning Progress: We save your story progress, learned vocabulary, and achievements locally and/or in the cloud.
• Usage Data: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous information about how you use the app to improve our content.
• Crash Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous error reports to improve app stability.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties under any circumstances.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Sync your progress across devices.
• Analyse performance and fix errors.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

4. Advertising & Cookies

We use Google AdSense on the website and Google AdMob / AppLovin in the mobile app to show ads in the free version. These partners use cookies and device identifiers to show ads based on your interests.

You can manage your preferences at google.com/settings/ads or in your Android device settings under Settings → Google → Ads.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you have specific rights regarding your data, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. Contact us at dxk@portustories.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request". We will respond within 30 days.

You can also delete your account and associated data immediately, without contacting us, at portustories.com/delete-account. The same page also lets you erase only your learning data, keeping your account and purchases.

7. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained while your account is active. Erased immediately when you delete your account at /delete-account, or within 30 days if you request deletion by email.
• Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymous data retained for up to 26 months.
• Crash reports: Retained for 90 days by Firebase Crashlytics.

8. Children

The European Portuguese Reading app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.
